Week of June 22nd - Movie Making

  • First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley 2420 Channing Way Berkeley, CA, 94704 United States (map)

Have you ever wanted to make your own movie? In this class, campers will become directors, actors, camera operators, and storytellers as they work together to create their own live-action skit. Campers will learn how to come up with a story idea, build characters, act on camera, and use professional camera settings to film their scenes.

We will cover the movie-making process, including:

  • Story Planning: Creating a fun skit idea with a beginning, middle, and end.

  • Acting & Directing: Learning how to perform on camera and guide a scene.

  • Camera Skills: Using professional camera settings, framing shots, and filming with purpose.

  • Scene Building: Choosing locations, props, and simple costumes to bring the story to life.

  • Teamwork: Working together as a film crew to plan, rehearse, and shoot each scene.

By the end of camp, you and your crew will have created a short live-action skit to share with family and friends. No experience is needed. Just bring your imagination and get ready to call, “Action!”

$525 per week

We also offer AM (8am - 9am) and PM (3pm - 6:00pm) Extended Care for an additional fee.
